Frank Alfter (Ret.) that appeared in the Summer 2019 issue of the Friends Journal.  Col. Alfter tells the story of what happened when the B-17G, Big Stupe V, crash-landed near the village of Rambucourt, France on April 13, 1944.  His father, Glen Alfter, was tail-gunner.  And he describes the postwar reunions with the families of his father’s helpers.
