Jones, Harley CMSgt. H. M. Jones (USAF RET) passed on April 2, 2016 in Oviedo Fl. Born in Tallapoosa, GA, Sept. 19,1923, he was a veteran of WWII. As a gunner, his plane was shot down over France and he spent 3 mo. listed as MIA while recuperating from a broken leg and aiding the French underground. He was preceded in death by his 1st wife, Melba. He retired from the Air Force in 1967. He was Commander of VFW 10139. Survivors include his wife Dorothy, daughters Patricia (Mike) Snow, and Susan (Nathan) Battle, 4 grandsons and 2 great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be April 16 at 1pm at Chapel Hill.
