From July 8-12, 1999, twenty-six members and friends of AFEES joined a commemorative trek across the Pyrenees from France to Spain in memory of and respect for the downed Allied airmen and political opponents of the Nazis who made the same trek, but under far more onerous conditions, during World War II.  Articles about the event appeared in the August and December 1999 issues of the AFEES newsletter, Communications.  The articles appear below but also can be viewed on those back issues of the newsletter posted elsewhere on this website.  Click on an image on this page to enlarge it to make it easier to read.
