“House of Alphonse”

“Good Evening to the House of Alphonse…,” by John G. Hubbell, appeared in the Reader’s Digest (Canadian edition), September, 1966, pp. 32-39.  The story describes “Operation Bonaparte,” a part of the “Shelburne Line.”  (For more information on the Shelburne Line on this website, go to http://airforceescape.org/newsletters/ and scroll down to the pdf file entitled “Shelburne U.S.A. 1976”.  On the inside of the front cover is a map of the places referred to in the story.  On the next three pages of “Shelburne U.S.A. 1976” you will find text and photos pertaining to the escape line.
